Mixed Media

The Paintings in this series are done in pencil, pen & ink and watercolor on paper and belong to the following series:

Animal Shamanism
Inspired by nature and all of the animals within her domain.  This series contains lessons learned from observing animals and their ancient archetypes as well as self-portraits painted using animals as totems.  This particular painting is titled Totem III and is the first of its kind in this medium.

Renaissance
This series was originally inspired by a trip to the Vatican and to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel.  This particular painting was actually composed by the Master Artist, Rubens and became part of this series as a result of the architecture and sculptured found within the composition.

Native American Indian
Lee has always felt close to the Native Americans of this country.  Through reading, meditation and inspiration Arrington paints images that remind him of a time when people lived with and embraced Nature.  This painting represents an Indian warrior in winter and is titled Bear Warrior.

Mythology
Mythology comes in many forms and is part of all societies; indeed it is the way we pass morals and lessons dealing with human archetypes and stories over the centuries.  This painting serves as a self-portrait where the artist acknowledges the mystical beasts of old in this work entitled Dragon.

Masters of Art
Inspired by the greatest artists of all time, Lee Arrington honors these timeless classics with his own contemporary impressionist play.  This particular painting is the "Annunciation" by Tintoretto and I intuitively found this during my wife's pregnancy with my first child.

Music & World Travel
A guitarist and avid world traveler himself, Arrington puts music to canvas and combines storytelling and traveling on a path he deems "truly living."  This painting is titled A New World and represents life after Reiki and the development of his intuitive senses.

Philosophy
These symbolist-expressionist works seek to explain the unexplainable, contemplate life and its intricacies, and crack the puzzle that is the mystery of life.  In this painting, Door to the Unknown, the artist contemplates the fear involved before beginning anything "new."
